Dave Huffman - Senior Pastor

Dave is grateful to be a Christ-follower in faith from an early age.  It is his delight to be married to Wanda; they have five great children.  Dave, who has a master’s degree from Moody Theological Seminary, serves as our senior pastor where he uses his gifts in teaching, leadership and encouragement.  Despite his hobby in woodworking, he still has all of his digits.

Ernest Sallee - Pastor of Worship & Arts

Ernest is a lover of God first, his wife and family next and the performing arts are really close runner up.  He has served as a minister of music for over 30 years in various churches throughout the Baltimore/Washington area.  This includes over 10 years at SPC.  As a native Baltimorean, he roots for the Orioles and Ravens – the ones he claims to be the winning teams in the area!

Sadiqq Abdullah - Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries

Sadiqq became a believer in Jesus Christ in 1997. Since then, he has been growing in his faith and using the gifts given to him for the work of ministry. Sadiqq is married with 6 children. He has served in various capacities at different churches and remains active in his local community. Next to spending time with his family, some of his interests include participating in sports, playing chess, and teaching.

Tashia Abdullah - Director of Early Childhood

Tashia is a wife, a mom, and attorney. Serving the children, parents, and families at SPC brings her heart boundless joy. She loves her SPC family and feels blessed to call SPC her home.

Nicole Smart - Director of Children's Ministries

Nicole surrendered her heart to Jesus at an early age. She has been married to her husband David, a retired Marine for 21 years. From their union, God has blessed them with two daughters. She earned a bachelor's degree from California State University at Northridge and certification in education from Western Governor’s University. She brings with her over 20 years of working with children, from infants through high school. When her passion for God and children collided, she felt God's call on her life to children's ministry. Nicole believes children are best discipled by knowing (head knowledge), loving (heart knowledge), and living (action) for Jesus. She enjoys baking and her specially crafted sugar cookies have often been mailed across state lines.

Sharon Pankey - Communications Coordinator

Sharon Pankey is a self-described wordsmith. Writing, editing, and bringing an idea to paper (or computer screen) brings joy to her as does completing challenging crossword puzzles! A graduate of Bowie State University in Bowie, MD, she holds a degree in Communications. A wife and mother of three, Sharon and her family have been attending South Potomac Church for over six years. She came to know the Lord at the age of nine and has been walking with Him ever since!

Wanda Huffman Director of Student Ministries and Connections

Wanda became a believer in Jesus at the age of six, and she has made it her life mission to love God and love people. Helping people connect at South Potomac as they find a place to live out their faith brings her joy. Wanda is also especially thankful to work with students as they come to know and love God and learn to share their love of people. Spending time with the next generation of world leaders is a fun and humbling opportunity! When she is not at SPC, Wanda enjoys Textile Arts. Every night, her sewing machine is tucked in and hugged goodnight!

Dan Smart - Office Administrator

Dan Smart submitted his life to Jesus Christ in 1998.  He came on staff in 2000 as the office administrator.  Dan’s passion is serving Christ by serving people.  He is known for his dry sense of humor, his crazy pictures on the office wall and his tell-it-like-it-is approach to life and ministry.  A little known fact?  All animals love Dan!

Shawn Stephenson - Facility Manager

Shawn has a passion for serving the Lord and using his talents for the building-up of God's Kingdom. Shawn has been a carpenter for over three decades, with a broad set of skills and talents that range from woodwork to working on cars. Shawn loves to travel, play chess, listen to music, hunt and fish. Shawn is married to Tippi and has four children and five grandchildren. Shawn thanks God for the opportunity to serve here at South Potomac!
